Assess and Mitigate Your Home’s Wildfire Vulnerabilities

Order an Aerial Risk Report to understand potential mitigations to prevent ignition and improve insurability.

Mitigate

Turn a vulnerability assessment into a clear, prioritized plan of action

From Knowing Your Risk to Reducing It

An assessment tells you where and how a structure is likely to ignite. Mitigation is what closes those gaps. FortressFire translates each parcel’s Property Ignition Model (PIM) results into a specific, prioritized set of actions designed to reduce ignition risk across all five threat vectors — convective heat, radiant heat, ember entry, ember accumulation, and structure-to-structure ignition.

Every recommendation is tied to a documented vulnerability and to the standards that matter for insurability, so the work you invest in is the work that moves your risk profile — and your insurability — in the right direction.

A Prioritized Roadmap, Not a Checklist

Not all vulnerabilities carry equal weight. Our mitigation roadmap ranks recommended actions by their impact on ignition risk, so you can sequence the work intelligently by addressing the highest-impact items first and planning the rest over time and as budgets allow.

For each recommended action, you receive:

  • The specific vulnerability it addresses, mapped to the relevant PIM threat vector

  • Clear, line-item scope ready to be contracted or completed by your own crews and vendors

  • The expected effect on the property’s post-mitigation risk profile for underwriting consideration

Structure Hardening and Fuel Reduction

Mitigation generally falls into two primary categories. Our roadmap addresses both:

  • Structure Hardening: Targeted improvements to the building itself — roof, vents, eaves, openings, and adjacent attachments — that reduce the pathways embers and heat use to ignite a structure.
  • Fuel Reduction: Management of vegetation and combustible materials within the structure ignition zone and defensible space to interrupt the path of fire toward the buildings.

Your Choice of How the Work Gets Done

FortressFire’s role is to define what needs to happen and why. How the work gets done is up to you. Property owners can self-perform, use their existing vendors, or source mitigation services and fire retardant through FortressFire’s network of strategic partners in select markets. In every case, completed mitigations can be documented and reflected in the property’s record on the AMP Platform.

Wildfire mitigation is the set of actions that reduce a structure’s likelihood of igniting during a wildfire — primarily structure hardening (improving the building’s resistance to embers and heat) and fuel reduction (managing vegetation and combustible materials around it). FortressFire bases every mitigation recommendation on a physics-based, property-specific Property Ignition Model (PIM) assessment.
